It's part being so twee they can't imagine things being not-perfect, part manipulative fuckery acting like kids owe their parents for their existence regardless of anything else, part not acknowledging that no one's family looks like a fucking 50s sitcom with a mom, dad, 2.1 kids, and golden retriever. All of which is totally ridiculous. I just don't fucking get it. At all.
